And I hurried to you my Lord

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Do you ever hear the call to prayer but you continue reading your favourite news article, snooze the alarm or just sit on the couch being lazy. Or was it just me??

Acts of worship were something I did occasionally. Not necessarily because I struggled with them but perhaps, I just did not know the importance of pleasing my maker.

Allah guides whom he pleases and there is no such thing as ‘I CAN’T’ in Islam.

Here’s how I started off: Seeking knowledge with the intention to learn, making dua and taking the first steps and Alhamdullilah, i’m finding it easy and I pray and hope that it is the same for everyone else.. Ameen

Ibrahim! Yusuf! Muhammad! In a distance I hear.

Somali mothers reminding their sons that playtime is over and it’s time to go home.

I look out of the window and what a brilliant sight.

The golden sunset… Oh what a beautiful sight.

Heard the call to prayer, It is time for Maghrib so prayer is due.

I forget my worries, I delay my chores.

Another opportunity to please my Lord.

Another opportunity to recite Qur’an out loud in Salah.

Another opportunity to pour my heart out in sujood and ask from Ya Rabb.

I take a moment;

I smile;

Rushing to perform wudhu, with the ayah of the Qur’an in my head:

“And I hurried to you my lord, so that you’ll be pleased”~ Taahaa, [20]: 84]

 Barakallahu feekum and Asalamu 'alaikum
